Machining, Welding & Fabrication — All Under One Roof

Pottsies Fab provides CNC and manual machining, precision welding, CNC plasma cutting, and custom metal fabrication from our shop in Charlestown, Indiana.

We work with businesses and individuals on everything from one-off parts and repairs to prototypes and short-run production. If your project doesn’t fit neatly into one category, that’s okay — many of our jobs combine machining, cutting, welding, and fabrication to produce a complete finished part or assembly.

CNC Machining

Our CNC machining capabilities allow us to produce accurate, repeatable components for custom projects, replacement parts, prototypes, and small production runs.

Whether you have a finished drawing or need help turning an existing part or idea into something manufacturable, we can work with you to find a practical solution.

Typical CNC machining work includes:

  • Custom brackets and components
  • Replacement and obsolete parts
  • Prototypes and one-off parts
  • Fixtures and tooling
  • Drilling, boring, pocketing and profiling
  • Short-run production
  • Modification of existing components

Need several of the same part? CNC machining also allows us to efficiently reproduce components once the initial setup and programming are complete.

Manual Machining

Not every job needs CNC equipment.

Our manual machining capabilities are ideal for repairs, modifications, simple components, and jobs where setting up a CNC program simply doesn’t make sense.

Typical work includes milling, drilling, boring, facing, turning, fitting, and modifying existing parts.

Manual machining is particularly useful when repairing equipment or making a replacement for a component that’s no longer commercially available.

Precision Welding

Pottsies Fab provides TIG and MIG welding for custom fabrication, repairs, modifications, and welded assemblies.

We work with:

Carbon Steel • Stainless Steel • Aluminum

TIG welding is available for projects where appearance, control, fit-up, and precision are especially important.

Typical welding projects include:

Custom Metal Fabrication

Sometimes you don’t need a particular manufacturing process — you just need something built.

That’s where our combination of equipment and fabrication capabilities becomes especially useful.

We can take a project from an idea, sketch, drawing, existing part, or customer-supplied dimensions and determine an efficient way to manufacture it.

Projects can combine CNC machining, plasma cutting, forming, fitting, welding, and assembly as needed.

From a simple bracket to a complete custom assembly, we’re comfortable with projects that require a little problem-solving.

CNC Plasma Cutting

Our CNC plasma cutting capabilities provide an efficient way to produce custom components and profiles from sheet and plate.

Typical applications include:

  • Brackets
  • Mounting plates
  • Tabs and gussets
  • Flanges
  • Signs and decorative pieces
  • Equipment components
  • Prototype parts
  • Small batches of repeat components

Parts can also be incorporated into larger fabricated or welded assemblies right here in our shop.

Prototypes & One-Off Parts

Need one?

That’s not a problem.

Pottsies Fab welcomes the one-off and unusual projects that aren’t always attractive to larger production shops.

We can help turn a concept, sketch, damaged component, or existing part into a finished piece. Depending on the project, that may include design assistance, prototyping, machining, plasma cutting, welding, fitting, and final assembly.

Repair & Modification

Replacing an entire piece of equipment because of one damaged or unavailable component doesn’t always make sense.

We can evaluate existing parts and assemblies to determine whether they can be repaired, modified, reinforced, or reproduced.

This can include machining damaged components, welding repairs, producing replacement pieces, modifying brackets or mounts, and adapting components for a new application.

Short-Run Production

You don’t need to order hundreds or thousands of pieces to work with Pottsies Fab.

Our shop is well suited for small quantities and short production runs where flexibility matters.

Once a part and process are established, we can produce repeat components using CNC machining, CNC plasma cutting, welding, fabrication, or a combination of processes.

Manufacturing & Overflow Support

We also work with other manufacturers, repair facilities, contractors, and businesses that occasionally need additional capacity or capabilities they don’t have in-house.
